Chapter 2: The power of tools

Gujoron is a tool for interpreting events. The tool connects the subject with the object in a neutral position. It doesn't tilt to either side. Anyone can use the tool. If the chef uses it, it becomes a good knife, and if the killer uses it, it becomes a bad sword. The good and evil, that humans like to argue about, is up to the one who uses the sword. A knife is innocent. Tools are innocent. That is the universality of the tool. The tool is open to everyone. Tools can be shared in turn by all people. But no one should monopolize the tool. Like the clock in a square, the tool is to share. It gets better if a good person uses it, and worse if a bad person uses it. Harmful effect of chaebol, harmful effect of trash reporters, harmful effect of the prosecution, corruption of bureaucrats, and military coups are tragedies that occur when a small number of people monopolize tools.

If the tool breaks, you can replace it with a new one. There is no reason to get angry. You can be cool with the tools. The tool also makes people humble. There is no need to bluff. Loud decorations interfere with the use of tools. All good tools are simple without decoration. If there is decoration, it is easy to lose the center of gravity and difficult to clean. Decorative tools are not good because they are cumbersome to use and are prone to contamination. A complicated gun and a loud sword cannot win the war. Tools should be convenient, so the direction of development is determined by structural efficiency.

People rely on the truth, vaguely wanting the truth to be on their side. They also believe the same about their parents. They want a biased truth that is not neutral. They want the truth that supports a spoild child. Most of the truths spoken by wise men of the East and West were mostly reflective of people's desires. It's just a simple wish that "I hope so," but they deceptively concluded that “This is that." Philosophers defined themselves as menial service workers. The audience is the first and they are the second. So philosophers suck up to the public. They says that it is the truth to punish bad people and give a prize to good people. It sounds good, but it's not true.

Let’s take an example. While tasting the food at the restaurant, he gives reviews such as "Well, this dish is not delicious." and "Yes, this dish is edible." The one who's hungry praises that it's delicious, and the one who's full doesn't eat it, but throws a spoon. It's just a self-introduction that reflects your own taste and desire, not an objective evaluation. It's not active but passive. The food is done by the chef, and the gourmet nitpicks behind the scenes. Because they have the authority of a critic only when he saves Michelin-star. There was never a person who actively went into the kitchen and looked at what the chef's knife was doing on the cutting board, because they didn't hold the tools.

You must actively take control of the steering wheel of the event. A doctor without a stethoscope butters up the patient. The author who runs out of stories butters up his readers. A chef without a knife should at least please his customers. The poor politician bows to the voters. Only when you hold the tool can you become the host as the subject. Finally, he who takes over the stage overwhelms the audience. You have to do a tool-oriented reasoning. Because the tool is neutral, not on your side, its value depends on the user's ability. Do not evaluate passively from behind, but actively perform in front of the public. You should cook with your own hands instead of complaining that it tastes bad. Anyone with the tools can take control of the stage and handle it. You can control the result according to your taste.

Those who hold the tools take control of the public and turn into a rationalist, optimist and man of principle. They use the standard tactics and aim for a long-term war. Those without tools turn into a pragmatist, pessimist, and man of anomaly that butters up the public in order to pick up even the leftover thrown away. They use an expedient tactics and aim for a short-term war.
