Chapter 8: Closed system and Open system

에너지 개념이야말로 세상을 이해하는 근본이 된다. 그런데 에너지가 뭐지? 에너지는 여러가지 의미로 혼란스럽게 사용된다. 에너지는 어떤 일의 원인이기도 하고 때로는 일 자체를 의미하기도 한다. 에너지가 일의 원인일 때는 수력이나 전력과 같은 동력원 개념이고, 일 자체를 의미할 때는 단순한 물리량이다. 일은 형태를 바꿀 수 있으므로 때로는 하나의 일이 다른 일의 원인이 된다. 헷갈리기 쉽다. 닫힌계냐 열린계냐다.

The concept of energy is the basis for understanding the world. But what is energy? The meaning is used more complexly in many ways. Energy is the cause of something, and sometimes it means work itself. When energy is the cause of work, it is a concept of power sources such as hydropower or electric power. And when it means work itself, it is a simple physical quantity. Work can change shape, so sometimes a work causes another. It's easy to get confused. It's a closed or open system.

열린계 - 일 A가 일 B의 원인이다. 에너지는 스칼라량이다

닫힌계 - 동력원이 일의 원인이다. 사건 안에서 원인측이 에너지다

Open system - Work A is the cause of work B. Energy is scalar quantity.

Closed systems - Power source is the cause of work. Energy is the cause side of the event.

열린계의 두 사건 - 사건 1의 시소 왼쪽이 내려간다 -> 사건 2의 시소 오른쪽이 올라간다

닫힌계의 한 사건 - 상부구조에서 물레가 돈다 -> 하부구조에서 방아를 찧는다

Two events of an open system – The left side of the seesaw in event 1 goes down. → The right side of the seesaw in event 2 goes up

One event of a closed system – A spinning wheel in the superstructure is spinning. → A mill is grinding in the substructure.

엔트로피의 법칙에서 말하는 쓸 수 있는 에너지는 닫힌계 안에서 상부구조다. 외부의 개입 없이 저절로 돌아가는 것은 내부에 그것을 돌리는 엔진이 있다. 그것이 쓸 수 있는 에너지다. 사람이 돌을 던진다면 돌 밖에서 에너지가 투입된다. 이는 열린계다. 회오리바람이 일어난다면 내부에 온도차이라는 동력원이 있다. 죽은 돌멩이는 외부에 밀어대는 강물의 힘에 의해 굴러가고 살아있는 사람은 내부에서 작동하는 심장의 힘에 의해 움직인다. 물론 회오리바람이나 사람의 운동도 크게 보면 외부에서 에너지가 공급된다. 회오리바람은 외부의 태양열이 에너지를 공급하고 사람은 외부의 밥이 에너지를 공급한다. 그 부분은 논외로 하고 범위를 좁혀서 외부를 차단하고 닫힌계 안쪽만 보는 거다.

The available energy in the law of entropy lies in the superstructure within the closed system. Something that works on its own without outside intervention has an engine inside that makes it work. That is available energy. In order for a person to throw a stone, energy must be supplied from the outside of the stone. This means an open system by exteranl influences. In order for a whirlwind to occur, there must be a power source called temperature difference inside. The lifeless stone is rolled by the force of the river pushing from the outside, and the live person is moved by the force of the heart functioning from the inside. Of course, in a broad sense, not only whirlwinds but also human movements are supplied with energy from the outside. In whirlwinds, the outside solar heat supplies energy, and in humans, the outside rice supplies energy. Leaving aside this part, the concept of available energy is to only look inside the closed system after limiting the scope and blocking the outside.

외부작용 - A가 B를 움직인다. A와 B의 위상은 같다.

내부동력 - 엔진이 바퀴를 움직인다. 위상의 차이가 있다.

External action - A moves B. The phase of A and B is the same.

Internal power - The engine moves the wheels. There is a phase difference.

몬태규가와 캐퓰렛가에 분쟁이 발생해서 로미오와 쥴리엣이 죽었다고 보면 닫힌계다. 몬태규가 사람이 캐퓰렛가 사람 하나를 죽여서 복수를 한다고 이번에는 반대로 캐퓰렛가 사람이 몬태규가 사람을 하나 죽였다고 보면 열린계다. 엔트로피 개념은 닫힌계 중심으로 해석한다.

If Romeo and Juliet were killed in a dispute between Montagues and Capulets, it was a closed system. One of Montagues revenges by killing one of Capulets, and next time one of Capulets kills one of Montagues. This is an open system. The concept of entropy is interpreted as a closed system.

닫힌계 - 집단의 분쟁에 의해 개인이 죽었다. 죽인 가문이 위고 죽은 사람이 아래다.

열린계 - 사람이 사람을 서로 죽였다. 죽인 사람과 죽은 사람은 대등하다.

Closed system - An individual died in the conflict of a group. The family that killed is the top and the dead is the bottom.

Open system – An individual killed each other. The individual who killed and the individual who died are on a par with each other.

모래시계를 뒤집으면 모래알이 떨어지는 것은 모래시계라는 닫힌계 안에서 일어나는 사건이다. 반면 당구공 하나를 치면 그 당구공이 다른 당구공에 맞는 것은 두 당구공 사이에서 일어나는 일이다. 의사결정이 일어나는 지점이 열려있느냐 닫혀 있느냐다. 하나의 사건 안에서 원인측과 결과측의 관계냐 아니면 서로 다른 두 사건 사이에서 작용측과 수용측의 관계냐다. 엔트로피의 쓸 수 있는 에너지 개념은 닫힌계에 적용된다.
