Chapter3: The power of contact

존재가 처음 탄생하는 자궁이 있다. 그곳은 비좁아서 둘은 들어갈 수 없다. 통과하기 힘든 관문이 있다. 거기서 딱 걸린다. 정체가 드러나고 만다. 정상의 뾰족한 지점이 있다. 그곳은 한 사람만 올라설 수 있다. 눈덩이는 거기서 비탈을 향해 굴려진다. 그 탄생의 자궁에서 딱 걸린다. 빠져나갈 수 없다. 그것이 그것이게 하는 그것이 반드시 있다.

우산의 디자인은 하나 뿐이다. 5천년 동안 우산의 형태는 조금도 변하지 않았다. 젓가락도 디자인은 하나 뿐이고 숟가락도 디자인은 하나 뿐이다. 우산은 비와 만나고 젓가락은 손가락과 만나고 숟가락은 입술과 만난다. 그 만남의 접점에서 존재는 본질을 들킨다. 모든 존재의 궁극적인 출발점은 그것의 탄생과정에 있다. 세상은 원자가 모여서 이루어진 것이 아니라 그러한 탄생과정의 의사결정들이 모여서 이루어진 것이다. 세상은 만남이며 만나려면 둘이 합의해야 한다. 그곳에는 방해자가 없어야 한다. 만남의 장소는 단순해야 한다. 번잡한 시장거리에서 만날 수 없다. 조용한 카페에서 만날 수 있다. 지저분한 곳에서 만날 수 없다. 모든 탄생은 순결한 곳에서 이루어진다.

배우는 무대 위에서 연기한다. 영화는 스크린 위에서 춤을 춘다. 요리는 도마 위에서 탄생한다. 스포츠 스타는 그라운드에서 탄생한다. 국회의원은 투표함에서 탄생된다. 무엇이든 탄생의 자궁이 있고 그곳은 조용하고 단순해야 한다. 심플하고 깨끗해야 한다. 방해자가 없어야 한다. 거기서 존재는 내막을 들키고 만다.

그 자궁 속에서 무슨 일이 일어나는지 보자. 그 빵가마 속에서 무엇이 구워지는지 보자. '사건'이라는 자궁 속에서 '의사결정'이라는 도구가 일을 저지른다. 시스템이라는 자궁 속에서 구조라는 도구가 작품을 빚어낸다. 그리고 이야기는 시작된다. 안전한 자궁이 있고 중립적인 도구가 있어야 한다. 칼없는 무사, 총 없는 포수, 펜 없는 작가는 도구를 잃은 사람이다. 무대를 잃은 배우, 연재처를 잃은 만화가, 팀을 잃은 선수는 자궁을 잃은 사람이다. 도구를 잃고 자궁을 잃으면 망한다.

자궁 속에 도구가 있다. 자궁을 뒤집어 속을 드러나게 하면 아날로그다. 도구를 안으로 집어넣어 안전하게 보호하면 디지털이다. 디지털은 같은 작업을 반복하고 아날로그는 매번 다른 작업을 한다. 디지털이 상부구조라면 아날로그는 하부구조다. 디지털이 질이라면 아날로그는 힘이다. 자궁이 통합적인 전략을 결정하고 도구가 세부적인 전술을 결정한다.
